Ghost Hunting

Last night we went ghost hunting which was totally AWESOME!  We first went to Naper Settlement for their All Hollows Eve.  On our ghost hunt we found out there is an EMF device on the iPhone and iPod that you can use to track electromagnetic frequencies.  I'll tell the story as I post the pictures from our adventure.

Lizzie Borden - who did not murder her parents - with a really tall monster in the background. (After our ghost tour we each got a dvd of night vision capturing a figure in the Borden house.  It was creepy!!)

The beginning of our ghost tour.

Lauren posing so I could get a picture of "Barbie".

The very first picture that I take - with flash - I get an orb in the background.  This was right after we found out that Lauren could download the EMF meter on her phone for free.  I showed this picture to our guide and he said that yes it infact was an orb or spirit.  There was nothing in the background to reflect that image.

Getting some activity from the EMF meter.

A LOT of activity now.  This was in front of the old Nichols Library on Washington Street.

In front of The Red Geranium house.  The story about this house is unbelievable.  Long story short, Kevin (our guide) was the ghost hunter who made contact with the ghost that currently lives in this house.  It was thought to be of a Vietnam War veteran who committed suicide.  After finding out the spirit's name was Michael, and that was not the veteran's name, they determined that the house has been haunted for decades. A couple had bought the house to start a business (The Red Geranium) and after being in the basement one time, no one would go back down there because of things moving, breaking, and hearing noises.  The house is currently vacant and definitely creepy.

This is a picture of one of the windows down the driveway on the side of the house.  Inside (faintly) you can see a backwards 6, followed by 2 more 6's and an upside down cross that has been carved into the walls.  The business owner has not been back but to only board up a window from the basement where it looked like someone broke in.  The police went down to investigate and saw that there was no broken glass inside the basement and only outside.  The window was broken from the inside out.  No one had been in the house.

Chris, Kevin, Lauren and I at the end of our ghost tour.  It wasn't as scary as it was interesting.  I would totally do it again.  Maybe the trolly tour for next year....who's in??

  1. No way! I'm so freaked out just looking at your pictures. I so don't have the guts to do that. I wouldn't be able to sleep for a long, long time. It would be entertaining to see Chad on one of those tours. He loves to watch the TV shows...he totally buys into it all.
